Diane joined Design Engineers in November 2022. She was born in Wellington and then moved to Christchurch. She started her studies at the University of Canterbury, and then her family relocated to Auckland in the past few years. Currently, Diane is part-time studying for her bachelor's degree at AUT University while working full-time with Design Engineers in our Auckland office. She enjoys working in our team and is passionate about providing high-quality design work to meet client expectations.

Diane is responsible for designing structural and non-structural building elements using principles of engineering, physics, and mathematics. This involves selecting appropriate materials, calculating loads, and determining the most efficient structural systems. She analyses structures to ensure that they are safe and capable of withstanding the loads they will be subjected to. This may involve using software programs, conducting physical tests, and analysing data. She is responsible for preparing reports and specifications for the structures she designs, including creating drawings and providing workable solutions. She works closely with other professionals such as architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure that the structures she designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet the needs of the client. She ensures that the structures she designs meet all applicable building codes and regulations. This includes understanding and applying local, state, and national codes, as well as considering factors such as environmental impacts and sustainability. She continues to learn and grow throughout her career, which may involve pursuing additional certifications, attending conferences and seminars, and staying up-to-date on new technologies and industry trends. Diane is skilled in computing things by hand or using structural analysis software. She is a key team player and can provide great assistance in delivering projects on time and within budget.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano and spending time with her friends and family.
